We are looking to expand our team of guides and are particularly interested in getting in touch with people who speak Chinese, Japanese, Italian, German, Spanish and Polish. At the moment, we are not recruiting guides who speak only English or other languages, as we currently have sufficient guides for those languages.
Previous experience as a tour guide is not required, as all necessary training will be provided through our guide course.
A little about the guide course:
The course is scheduled to take place two to three times per week, from January until mid-March 2027.
The course will be conducted in English and will include both theoretical and practical training.
The theoretical part will cover topics such as Norwegian history, geography, the welfare and education systems, Stavanger and the surrounding region, as well as other general knowledge relevant to working as a tour guide. First aid training will also be included.
The practical part will involve participants joining guided tours to learn how to conduct tours in real-life situations.
At the end of the course, participants will take a written exam in English and an oral exam in the language or languages they wish to guide in.
One of the most important requirements is that participants live in the Stavanger region and are available to work with us at least throughout the summer cruise season in 2027.
