ARCTIC GUIDE & MARKETING COORDINATOR
Hattvika Lodge · Ballstad, Lofoten · Arctic Norway
The Position
We are looking for an experienced Arctic Guide & Marketing Coordinator who combines professional guiding expertise with strong communication skills, creativity and a genuine passion for the Arctic, adventure, travel and storytelling.
This is a unique and varied position combining a 25% Arctic guiding position, and 75% marketing/communications/content creation position. The role is designed for someone who feels equally comfortable leading guests into the wilderness, creating compelling visual content and developing stories that communicate the spirit of Hattvika Lodge and Lofoten to an international audience.
Our guests come from all over the world, and we are looking for someone who understands international tourism and knows how to create meaningful experiences for people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Because this is a hands-on position within a small and dynamic organisation, flexibility is essential. Some days may be spent guiding guests through the Arctic landscape, while others may focus primarily on photography, video production, writing, website management, social media or marketing projects.
We are looking for someone who understands this structure, values teamwork and is comfortable moving between the wilderness, the office and the creative process.
Your Guiding & Outdoor Responsibilities
Lead safe, professional and engaging Arctic experiences for our guests.
Guide snowshoeing, Northern Lights, sightseeing, hiking, nature and cultural tours.
Share your knowledge of Arctic nature, landscapes, wildlife, history and local culture.
Ensure every guest receives a memorable, personal and professionally delivered experience.
Assess weather, terrain and conditions and make responsible decisions regarding guest safety.
Use your outdoor experience and knowledge to adapt experiences to changing Arctic conditions.
Support the improvement of existing tours, & development of new tours, experiences and outdoor activities.
Represent Hattvika Lodge professionally when guiding guests, media and special groups.
Create authentic opportunities for guests to connect with the Arctic environment.
Your Marketing & Content Responsibilities
Develop and coordinate marketing content across digital and traditional channels.
Write and produce newsletters, press releases, website content, blogs and other marketing materials.
Writing books about Hattvika & Lofoten for in-room material
Develop compelling brand stories around Hattvika Lodge, Lofoten, Arctic nature and the guest experience.
Create high-quality photography and video content from the Arctic environment.
Manage and develop content for our website and social media channels.
Plan, shoot, edit and publish engaging photo and video content.
Support SEO and ensure website content is structured and written to reach relevant international audiences.
Coordinate content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Threads and X/Twitter.
Support media relations and coordinate press releases, media visits and content opportunities.
Help develop the visual identity and digital presence of the company.
Coordinate events, larger groups, media visits and special projects when required.
Who You Are
You are an experienced Arctic guide, storyteller and content creator who understands that great tourism experiences are built through a combination of knowledge, professionalism, creativity and genuine human connection.
You are equally comfortable standing in the Arctic wilderness with a camera in your hands, guiding a group of international guests, writing a compelling story or developing content for a marketing campaign.
You have a strong understanding of the travel and leisure industry and know how to communicate the feeling of a destination---not simply describe it. You are curious, internationally minded and naturally interested in people, places, adventure and culture.
You also recognise that working within a small, high-quality hospitality operation requires flexibility. You are willing to contribute wherever your skills are needed and can move naturally between guiding, content production, marketing, events and day-to-day projects.
Most importantly, you take pride in creating meaningful experiences and telling authentic stories that inspire people to discover the Arctic.

A genuine passion for the Arctic, adventure, nature, photography and storytelling.
What We Offer
The opportunity to combine Arctic guiding with professional marketing, communications and creative work.
A varied role where no two days are necessarily the same.
The opportunity to create content in one of the world's most remarkable natural landscapes.
A competitive salary based on your qualifications and experience.
Affordable staff accommodation.
One staff meal during each working day.
A supportive and international working environment.
The opportunity to work directly with international guests, media and tourism partners.

More Than a Job
This is not simply a guiding position, and it is not simply a marketing position. It is a role for someone who wants to live the story they are telling.
The Arctic is our workplace, our inspiration and an essential part of the experience we create for our guests. We are looking for someone who can move naturally between guiding a guest beneath the Northern Lights, photographing the landscape, writing a story, creating a video or developing the next piece of content that inspires someone on the other side of the world to visit Lofoten.
We are looking for someone who wants to help bring that experience to life---through guiding, photography, film, writing, marketing and genuine connection with the Arctic.
Come for the opportunity. Stay for the experience. Help us tell the story of the Arctic from the Arctic.
